What is the Financial Value

of Nature?

Nature is an Infrastructure Asset.

It cleans water, manages water flows, prevents erosion,

stores carbon, and its biodiversity forms

climate resilience.

* We are a Research Initiative with the goal to map the current financial value

of all existing nature globally and its potential for re-valuation. This for the benefit of (Re-)Insurance,

Agro- and Food multinationals, farmers big and small and infrastructure resilience like dams, ports, etc.

Let's have a look at the balance sheet value

of your farm, forestry, marine or other nature land

Government

A lot of governments only mention the annual yield of their nature assets in the national accounting (e.g. timber, tourism).

There is a tremendous opportunity in adding the dormant financial value of natural land to their balance sheet for it's infrastructure role.

It can improve the debt-equity ratio of a country, hence also the credit rating and incentivise a more future-proof economy.

Private Owner

Private owners usually know the price of vacant land, but not the financial worth of what naturally grows on it. This is due to a lack of understanding and a lack of mapping of ecosystem services on their lands:

water absorption capacity, aquifers, carbon capture, biodiversity safe haven, erosion control. As an integral part of a wider landscape, dependencies and liabilities are still financially invisible, but they do shape the future position of your company.

Financial Institution

Are you making your clients aware of the dormant value in their portfolio?
Are you aware of the dormant value in your own portfolios?
And the potential to bundle this into new financial products...

What is Natural Infrastructure?

Nature is structurally undervalued, underpriced and simply not understood as an Infrastructure Asset class.
